Amina Abuthahir (she/her)
Bio
I’m a first generation, Indian-American woman, my family is from Tamilnadu. My passions are in opposing oppression and economic discrimination and violence towards affected folks. My goal is to create space, physical and mental, where people are able to be their full, true selves. I want to do this using a mixture of art, politics, mindfulness, and empathy."
Solidarity Arts Fellowship reflection
“I learned how to listen to myself while listening to others. The relationships formed were so organic and pure and I believe that this strong foundation will help us all build for years.
Object of resilience
In my picture I have: my zine, fellowship notebook, and pink quartz crystal. The zine is the first thing I created after being stuck in a rut and it really pummeled me out of that ditch. I decorated the fellowship notebook with paint pens and it makes it uniquely mine. The crystal is something that I like to keep close to me, I believe it leads and heals me.”
