One day, she hopes to take her passion for the arts and apply it to activist circles as well as entertainment in order to spark joy for others. Solidarity Arts Fellowship reflection

“Within the fellowship, I’ve learn about new ways to express my trauma and pain into activism and learned about other’s experiences with trauma and how they expressed those feelings. As the fellowship went on, my eyes began to open up to many things I was never taught when growing up. Every retreat felt like a history lesson I wish I learned at school. Some individuals are taught that issues from the past are not valid today but those teachings never stopped the problems but evolved it into new forms.”

Object of resilience

“My small sketchbook is my way of getting ideas down and telling stories I wish I can say out loud.”
